Risk Services Manager & Sport Broker


Chris retired from the UK police service in May 2010 having served 30 years. He planned and managed large-scale searches for missing persons and bodies; offensive searches to recover evidence at major crime scenes and defensive searches to protect VIPs. In this role he a member of the Police National Search Centres Consultative Committee assisting in the development of search strategy and tactics.

Chris was trained as a Search Coordinator at the Police National Search Centre, he was a qualified rope access supervisor, and has previously been trained to work in confined spaces.

Chris is a volunteer instructor for the Mountain Rescue England and Wales, Field Skills and Search Planning and Management Courses.

In one of his final roles he was the Operations Manager for the Constabulary’s Centralised Custody Unit.  In this role Chris was responsible for the Health and Safety management and arrangements for three large custody suites, being responsible for the safety of all detainees and staff. He was also responsible for managing the performance and compliance of contractors servicing the estate infrastructure.

Following retirement Chris now works as the Risk Services Manager and Sport Broker for Integro Insurance Brokers. He assists a variety of clients managing risks linked to adventurous activities, motorsport and mass public events.  Chris provides client support and guidance on risk assessment and event safety planning together with post incident response to review incidents and defend claims.

Chris also holds a position as an Associate Consultant at the Emergency Planning College (Cabinet Office) in the UK where he lectures on Spectator Safety and Event Risk Management.

He has passed the Event Safety Diploma at Derby University and the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health graduating at Warwick University and is a Graduate Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and a member of the IOSH Sports Grounds and Events Group.
