Dave Bunting MBE

Speaker – Mountaineer – Expedition Leader

Our guest after-dinner speaker, on Saturday evening, will be Dave Bunting MBE who will be giving a talk on Leading in challenging situations.

Dave has a wealth of experience in leading large groups on a variety of expeditions including the expedition that attempted to become the first British team to climb the formidable and rarely attempted West Ridge of Mount Everest in 2006 – earning Dave an MBE.

Most recently Dave led Mission Himalaya – a highly successful adventurous and challenging expedition to the Himalayas comprising a team of serving soldiers and veterans and funded by The Royal British Legion (TRBL) Battle Back Centre in Shropshire. The 4-week expedition involved a challenging circular trek of a mountain massif bordering the Everest Region and ascent of the significant Mera Peak at 6476 metres above sea level. Mission Himalaya aimed to place team members on the summit of a Himalayan Peak on Remembrance Day to coincide with the Centenary of the end of World War 1.

With over 30 years of experience in the mountains and 8 years on the speakers’ circuit, this is sure to be an invigorating and awe-inspiring experience for all at the evening meal.
