Murray Haynes is a serving Police Officer with over 20yrs experience of specialist search operations. He is a qualified Police Search Adviser, DVI Scene Evidence Recovery Manager, Missing Person Search Manager and RNLI/Police Advanced Helm, with a Masters’ from Cambridge University, where he completed a thesis on Police-led high-risk missing persons searches.

Since 2016 he has held the position of the National Search Adviser within the NCA, and to date he has managed and consulted on approximately 1000 Crime, Counter Terrorism and High-Risk Missing Person search operations, including many of the most recent complex and high profile cases, nationally.

Murray is a visiting instructor at the Police National Search Centre, contributes to the HM Coastguard search adviser and NCA crime search courses, and sits on a number of national boards, including the Police Search Governance Board, UK Search and Rescue Operators Group and NPCC Missing Person Expert Reference Group.
